who would have thought

on a completely different note than the previous post (this has nothing to do with wyoming)
monopoly money + monopoly property cards + dice = ART
our assignment was to bring in 30 of 3 different objects and create a "site specific installation piece" and take it down all within the 3 hours of class
this meant i spent and hour and a half just folding these cute little flowers
*since my whole class was working all over the building, at one point, someone came up and asked me if there was a party going on in the building that night, what a silly!*

i love how it turned out, so fun and whimsical
and to think...this is school work!

April 13, 2011

happy anniversary:

it's been one year since i deactivated my facebook, can you believe it?
also, can you believe i have blahgged so many times in one day?

galaxy glam

i helped out at the make a wish gala this year.
it was super fun to be a part of everything.
even better was the fact that jen and emmy were there to keep me company.
emmy and i were together the whole night and it was a blast.
jenny kept me calm when i was helping at check out (i get nervous, okay?)
definitely worth my saturday night!
because the event was at the clark planetarium, the dress code was: galaxy glam.
i knew that i wanted to go to decades to find something fun and glittery.
they have a bunch of racks that just have garments with beading, sequins and pearls (basically me personified as clothes.) i originally wanted a dress but knew i had to have this shirt when i saw it.
the outfit:
huge headband, pink lipstick, glittery shirt over a black dress, tights and boots
there were a bunch of star wars characters roaming around too. emmy and i each got pictures with them and a few short minutes later, em threw me under the bus by telling the super fans that i had never seen the show. it was kind of funny, but karma instantly came back to em when the characters asked her if she had ever been interested in charactering. so funny.
overall, a great night! great people, great cause. can't wait for next year!

i'm flattered, really i am

so i have a slight obsession with noodles & co.
i eat there a few times a week.
anyway, the point is: last week when i went to get some dinner after class
i ordered and at the last second said, "oh! to go please".
i paid and when i walked away i thought, "hmm that's kind of weird, they didn't give me a number or ask for my name."

a few minutes later i hear, "amanda." and it was my order.

you guys i go there so much, they didn't even need to ask my name.

brilliant.
